Finchley Cleaners Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Finchley Cleaners has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. Finchley Cleaners provides professional cleaning services and recognises our responsibility to uphold the highest ethical standards in the treatment of people who work for, with, or on behalf of our business.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Finchley Cleaners has a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and all forms of exploitation. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains.
All directors, managers, employees and contractors are expected to share this commitment. Any breach of this policy by employees may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. Any breach by suppliers or contractors may result in suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Finchley Cleaners operates within the cleaning and facilities services sector. Our workforce comprises directly employed staff and vetted subcontractors. Our supply chains include providers of cleaning materials, equipment, workwear, and ancillary services that support our operations.
We recognise that the cleaning industry can be exposed to higher risks of labour exploitation, particularly in relation to low-paid, temporary or migrant labour. We therefore place particular emphasis on due diligence and robust supplier management practices.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to uphold the same high standards on human rights and labour practices that we apply to ourselves. As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing management, we:
Require confirmation from key suppliers that they comply with applicable labour, employment and human rights legislation, and that they do not tolerate modern slavery or human trafficking within their own operations and supply chains.
Assess suppliers based on the nature of the goods or services supplied, their location, and known sector risks, in order to prioritise appropriate due diligence and monitoring.
Reserve the right to conduct audits or request evidence of compliance, such as workforce policies, right-to-work checks, and information on recruitment practices. Where we identify concerns, we seek corrective action and, if necessary, consider ending the relationship.
Our procurement processes are designed to avoid cost pressures that could encourage the use of exploitative labour practices, and to support long-term, ethical supplier relationships.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Finchley Cleaners encourages all employees, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to raise any concerns about suspected modern slavery or unethical labour practices. We provide confidential reporting routes through line management and senior management, and we commit to investigating all concerns promptly and sensitively.
No one raising a concern in good faith will suffer any form of detrimental treatment for doing so. Retaliation against individuals who report concerns is strictly prohibited and will be treated as a serious disciplinary matter.
Training and Awareness
We aim to build awareness of modern slavery risks across our organisation, particularly among managers, supervisors and employees involved in recruitment, procurement and supplier management. Training and guidance focus on recognising warning signs of exploitation, understanding our zero-tolerance stance, and knowing how to escalate concerns appropriately.
Monitoring, Annual Review and Continuous Improvement
Finchley Cleaners is committed to continuous improvement in identifying, preventing and addressing modern slavery risks. We monitor the effectiveness of our approach by reviewing reported concerns, audit outcomes, supplier performance and feedback from workers and managers.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed at least annually by our leadership team to ensure it remains appropriate to our business, reflects current legal requirements and best practice, and supports ongoing enhancements to our policies and procedures.
By maintaining strong governance, transparent supply chains and a culture of integrity, Finchley Cleaners strives to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in our business or any aspect of the services we provide.
